The core idea behind MIXENDO platform (work in progress!) is to enable anyone to create the mashup they need, when they need it and especially with the content they need. Indeed, in today's mashup environment, information is the core value but its sourcing remains rather limited to third party sourcing ( API's and Webservice), web feeds ( ATOM, RSS) and some web scrapping tools. Whereas the access to data through web feeds and API's is today the common approach, both solutions are only offering some web contents selected and chosen by their provider. With regards to webscrapping tools, they may be more "Do It Yourself" friendly but are still limited in functionalities especially regarding access to data included in the web pages requiring identification from the user and ease of use for non-techy users.
The Lab will be the place for everyone to explore new easy ways to create rich and personnalized applications. Among all ambitious projects that we are carrying so far, our R&D team is designing an innovative mashup tool for everyone allowing to cut particular pieces of a webpage, turn them into widgets and display them in real time on any other webpage.
